These are the terms for using Matlingo, the app and this site. Plain version first: it is your training journal, your notes belong to you, and we will not pretend to be your coach.
Matlingo records what you were taught at training and asks you about it later. It is a note-taking and revision tool. It is not instruction. It does not teach jiu jitsu, it does not check whether a technique is safe or correct, and it has no opinion on your ability or your rank.
Jiu jitsu is a contact sport and you can get hurt doing it. Anything you read in Matlingo is a record of what you told it, not advice from us. Follow your coach, not your notes. We are not responsible for injury, and nothing in the app should be treated as medical, safety or coaching advice.
Coaches, training partners and gyms get named in what you record. Only record what you are comfortable holding, follow your gym's rules on recording, and do not use Matlingo to keep notes about people that you would not be willing to show them.
Do not attack the service, scrape it, resell it, or use it to store anything unlawful. We can suspend accounts that do. If we ever have to do that, we will tell you why.
Capture and daily review are free. A subscription unlocks the archive older than thirty days and the deeper analysis. Prices are shown before you pay, subscriptions renew until cancelled, and you cancel through the App Store or Play Store, not through us. Nothing is charged during the waitlist.
Matlingo is early. Features will change and some will be removed. If something changes in a way that affects what you have already recorded, we will say so first, and your export will always keep working.
The app is provided as it is. Recording works offline on your own device, but the write-up needs our server, and servers go down. We do not promise uninterrupted service, and to the extent the law allows, our liability is limited to what you have paid us.
You can stop using Matlingo whenever you like and delete everything from settings. We can end service to an account that breaks these terms.
These terms are governed by the law of New South Wales, Australia. Nothing here removes rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law or equivalent law where you live.
